If you connect an OpenRouter key, Model Council stores it so the app can run council sessions on your behalf. The key is used only for OpenRouter requests initiated from your account.

OpenRouter-key runs are billed by OpenRouter to your OpenRouter account. Model Council plans do not include those model usage charges.

Do not enter secrets, regulated data, or confidential material unless you understand the retention and training policies of the model providers involved.

OpenRouter keys are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM before being written to the database. Decryption happens server-side in memory only when needed for a council request.
